The 15th annual Consumer Behaviour in Tourism Symposium (CBTS) provides an opportunity for tourism researchers and practitioners from all over the world to exchange scientific ideas and results and discuss new and emerging directions in the field.

CBTS 2023 is organised by Breda University of Applied Sciences in conjunction with the Competence Centre in Tourism Management and Tourism Economics (TOMTE) at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy).

Dr Greg Kapuscinski
Greg is based in the Oxford School of Hospitality Management within the Oxford Brookes Business School. He leads a number of modules on ‘Digital Marketing for Service Industries’, ‘Entrepreneurship and Creativity in Tourism and Hospitality’ and more focused modules such as ‘Tourism Digital Distribution Strategies’. He has been actively engaged in research on destination risk perception and crisis response.
Dr Marion Karl
Marion is a Behavioural geographer and tourism researcher focusing on decision-making theories. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management of the University of Surrey. Her research focuses on the destination choice process and relevant influencing factors, among them perceptions of risk
Dr Cihan Cobanoglu
Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu is the Dean and McKibbon Endowed Chair Professor of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) in the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida (USF), who also serves as the Director of the M3 Center for Hospitality Technology and Innovation. He is a renowned hospitality and tourism technology expert, a Fulbright Specialist and a Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP). He is also the Editor of the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology, co-author of 6 books.

CBTS 2023 will take place on the beautiful and vibrant Campus of Breda University of Applied Sciences, in the Netherlands.
From May 31 to June 2, the Academy of Tourism will welcome Academics and Industry Experts, to discuss the conference’s theme but also to visit the welcoming city of Breda.
